A courageous woman has shared her harrowing abduction by a ruthless gang who planned to exploit her virginity and organs – and how she successfully escaped the ordeal.

Lurata Lyon revealed how her virginity was traded to a depraved foreign buyer and she endured frequent threats at gunpoint while being coerced to witness other girls being assaulted to learn “how to satisfy a man.”

Now 45, Lurata’s harrowing ordeal began when she fled her hometown of Veliki Trnovac, Serbia, at 17 to evade extreme violence in Yugoslavia during the 1990s. Following an invasion by an ethnic cleansing murder squad in her village, she journeyed through mountains to Kosovo, seeking assistance from the Red Cross.

Rescued by two US soldiers, her safety was compromised when a local interpreter alerted a “deranged, vigilante” human trafficking syndicate, leading to her abduction while innocently buying a magazine at a newsstand.

Blindfolded and taken to their hideout, she faced coercion to be raped until revealing her virginity, causing the captors to view her as a valuable commodity.

Recalling the chilling threats, Lurata recounted how she was constantly threatened with a gun while witnessing unconscious women being assaulted before being prepared for trafficking and disappearance.

Despite facing grave danger with a gun to her ribs en route to the Albanian border, Lurata narrowly escaped being trafficked after an unexpected turn of events where she found a means to flee from captivity.

After being rescued by a UN police officer following a confrontation with her captor, she endured further turmoil upon her return to her hometown, encountering more violence and confinement.

A turning point occurred when her father, a local doctor, orchestrated her escape from captivity, allowing her to seek refuge in the UK where she later obtained British citizenship.

Transitioning into a motivational speaker and public speaking coach, Lurata authored her memoir, “Unbroken: Surviving Human Trafficking,” expressing gratitude to the British community for their support and resilience in overcoming her traumatic past while emphasizing the importance of kindness amid adversity.
