Meghan Markle is set to make a return to the United Kingdom after four years, planning to accompany Prince Harry at the upcoming Invictus Games event. The Duchess of Sussex is scheduled to attend an event in Birmingham on July 10, pending security approval, marking her first visit since her presence at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.

According to a source from the Sun, security considerations will play a crucial role in determining whether the 44-year-old American will join her husband in the UK. Meghan has previously participated in pre-Games ceremonies in Canada and Germany alongside Prince Harry.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry awaits the outcome of a security review funded by taxpayers. A committee comprising police, royal, and government experts is evaluating the Duke of Sussex’s request for taxpayer-funded armed security.

Despite previous concerns about safety, Harry expressed optimism about the possibility of bringing his family back home if the security review yields positive results, potentially paving the way for Meghan’s return after four years.

The plans for Meghan’s visit do not specify whether their children, six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lilibet, will accompany them this summer. The children have not visited the UK since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, where Meghan faced criticism upon arrival at St Paul’s.

Recent reports suggest that Harry, 41, desires King Charles to inaugurate the Birmingham Games in July 2027. Although formal invitations have not been issued, the King and other royals will be invited to attend, as reported by the Sun.

Meghan has been a steadfast supporter of the Invictus Games, standing by Prince Harry to champion wounded, injured, and sick service personnel. Her first appearance at the Games was in 2017 in Toronto, where she garnered attention for her genuine interactions with participants and their families.

Since then, Meghan has continued to show her support by attending events, cheering on athletes, and emphasizing the spirit of resilience and camaraderie that defines the Invictus Games. Even during the 2018 Sydney Games while pregnant with Prince Archie, she received praise for her unwavering commitment to the cause despite scaling back her engagements.
