The popular series “Heated Rivalry” is expanding its cast for the upcoming second season, adding three new actors to its lineup. Following a successful debut season, the Canadian-produced hockey drama gained global acclaim and boosted the careers of its lead actors, including Hudson Williams, Connor Storrie, and François Arnaud. The latest additions to the cast, announced recently, are:
– Milla Jovovich, known for her roles in the “Resident Evil” franchise and “The Fifth Element.”
– Kevin Zegers, who has appeared in shows like “Gossip Girl” and films such as “Transamerica.”
– Paul Gross, a veteran of Canadian film and television, recognized for his work in “Due South” and movies like “Men With Brooms” and “Passchendaele.”
The series, inspired by Nova Scotia author Rachel Reid’s “Game Changers” books, follows the clandestine relationship between two competitive ice hockey players, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. In the upcoming season, Paul Gross will portray hockey league commissioner Roger Crowell, while Kevin Zegers will play Coach Wiebe of the Ottawa Centaurs, Rozanov’s team. Milla Jovovich is set to take on the role of Dr. Galina Molchalina, Rozanov’s therapist.
Additionally, familiar faces from Season 1, such as Robbie G.K., Sophie Nélisse, Christina Chang, and Dylan Walsh, will return for the new season. The upcoming season will also feature a diverse range of Canadian talent, including Charlie Gillespie, Daniel Diemer, Emily Hampshire, and Priyanka. The show’s creator and director, Jacob Tierney, has expressed excitement about the new cast and confirmed that filming for Season 2 has commenced. Fans can expect the second season to premiere on Crave in Spring 2027.
