The World Nomad Games, a celebration of traditional nomadic sports and culture, are currently underway in Kyrgyzstan. Athletes hailing from 104 nations are participating in this event, highlighting the sports of the Turkic peoples of Central Asia. The games, which feature various competitions, will conclude on Sunday.

Located in Kyrchyn Gorge, about 314 kilometers east of the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek, the venue witnessed a gathering of participants and spectators on Wednesday for the 6th edition of the Games.

Participants engaging in diverse activities, such as holding golden eagles for a competition, interacting with hunting birds, and showcasing equestrian skills, have been captivating audiences. From the traditional equestrian discipline of tyiyn enmei, where riders gallop at high speeds to pick up coins while mounted, to the intense kok-boru and buzakshi competitions involving mounted players throwing a headless goat into a well for points, the event offers a blend of excitement and cultural richness.

Not limited to competitions, spectators are also enjoying the culinary delights and admiring the craftsmanship skills on display. From women spooling wool to individuals making pottery and baking flatbread, the event showcases a wide array of traditional practices and talents.
