Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) senior adviser has mentioned that American military strength is weaker than previously thought following the U.S. and Israel’s joint assault on Iran earlier this year. Talks to resolve the conflict have hit a standstill.

During a rare interview with Western media, Brig.-Gen. Mohammad Reza Naqdi, the supreme adviser to IRGC’s commander-in-chief, stated that Iran has not achieved its ultimate goal in the war and emphasized ongoing victories and future success.

A temporary agreement between the U.S. and Iran, designed to end hostilities, was reached in June, set to expire soon. However, the ceasefire collapsed, leading to a period of intense exchanges between the U.S. and Iran before a temporary halt.

Naqdi highlighted the learning curve gained from the conflict, stating that the longer it persists, the more experience Iran acquires in facing the U.S. military. He emphasized that they have recognized the perceived weaknesses in the American military.

U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated on Wednesday that the U.S. maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the strength of the naval blockade against Iran.

Efforts to resume peace negotiations continue, with Pakistan actively engaging with both Iran and the U.S. Pakistani officials remain optimistic about extending the deadline for the peace deal and are committed to pursuing diplomatic solutions.

The conflict has primarily affected Iran and Lebanon, with casualties reported in various countries due to Iranian strikes on U.S. assets and infrastructure. Talks have stalled over disagreements regarding the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil shipping route.

Both Iran and the U.S. have intensified their rhetoric in recent days, with Iran’s security official stating that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed unless U.S. conditions are met, while Trump demanded compensation from Iran for past actions.
