An adolescent boy has alleged that a female educator conversed with him over the phone to arrange a sexual rendezvous. Additionally, he claimed that during a video call, she appeared nude in the shower with her exposed breast visible.
Krystal Sims, aged 30, is confronting legal charges and potentially up to five years of incarceration for purportedly contacting the underage individual who disclosed the incident to authorities.
The Kentucky substitute teacher asserted that she was coordinating a meeting for the student to apologize for his classroom behavior and mentioned rejecting friend requests from other students.
As per the New York Post, a detective from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office received information indicating that Sims had engaged with an underage male for the purpose of planning a sexual encounter.
The student stated that he initially encountered Sims when she served as a substitute teacher and that they maintained contact via Snapchat.
Law enforcement mentioned that it was after their online interactions commenced that they began planning to meet for sexual activity.
On August 22, the boy recorded a call where a woman is heard proposing a meeting, as per the document. A subsequent video call was not recorded.
Allegedly, during the follow-up call, Sims was purportedly naked in the shower, exposing her chest. The detective reported that the juvenile observed her exposed breast while she was nude in the shower, and others present during the call confirmed the same.
When questioned by authorities regarding the conversation, she supposedly confessed to being the woman in the recording but claimed she was arranging a meeting for the boy to apologize, denying any physical interaction between them. Sims was apprehended and charged with unlawfully using electronic communication to solicit a child for prohibited acts.
The teacher was released from custody after posting a $25,000 cash bond on Monday and is scheduled for arraignment in court on Wednesday, October 8.
If found guilty, Sims could potentially face a prison term of up to five years.
