Two individuals have tragically lost their lives following a fiery crash involving an airplane and multiple trucks on a highway. Startling video footage shared online captured a massive cloud of smoke rising from the crash site as emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sunday, October 12.

The victims’ identities have not been revealed yet, and authorities are actively investigating the incident to determine the cause. The crash occurred around 1:30 pm local time near Hicks Airfield, situated in a commercial area surrounded by small businesses and residential neighborhoods.

Lois Kinman, a spokesperson for the airfield, confirmed that the aircraft was not based there. Various emergency teams from Tarrant County, Haslet, Lake Worth, Newark, Saginaw, Eagle Mountain, and Fort Worth promptly responded to the crash.

Robbie Hoy, a public information officer for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, mentioned that the Federal Aviation Administration would be leading the investigation. Motorists were advised to avoid the area as authorities managed the aftermath, with emergency vehicles blocking off the main roadway.

The aircraft involved was identified as a Beechcraft King Air C90; however, the number of passengers onboard at the time of the crash remains unclear. Witness accounts, such as that of Lauren Anderson, a cashier at a local animal feed shop, described seeing a large black smoke cloud and a continuous stream of emergency vehicles for about 20 to 30 minutes.

Despite the intense response, once the smoke dissipated, Anderson noted that the area appeared to return to normal, albeit with a lingering sense of something significant having occurred. The Mirror US reached out to the Fort Worth Fire Department for further details on the incident.
