It was a typical Friday night after a challenging week, spending hours deciding on a movie to watch on Netflix. While watching the film and enjoying a glass of red wine, I absentmindedly scrolled through Facebook on my phone.

During this casual browsing, an intriguing ad from Omaze caught my eye. They were offering a chance to win a luxurious beachfront house in Sussex, just a short drive away from my location. The idea of owning a £4 million property in such a picturesque location sparked my imagination.

The ad described the property in detail, highlighting features like a south-facing breakfast area and access to the exclusive Angmering-on-Sea estate with its own amenities. The prospect of owning such a lavish retreat near the coast seemed idyllic.

Despite the odds of winning being slim, similar to winning the National Lottery jackpot, I decided to participate. After forgetting about the raffle momentarily, I received an email from Omaze declaring me as a winner, albeit with a modest prize of £15.

Although the win was small, it gave me a taste of excitement. Encouraged by this, I reinvested my winnings in tickets for another property raffle by Omaze, this time for a stunning seaside house in Cornwall. Despite not winning the Cornwall property, the experience left me hopeful for future opportunities.

The actual winners of the Sussex and Cornwall houses were revealed to be James Moughton and Jon Dexter, respectively. James expressed his disbelief and joy at transitioning from a modest flat to a £4 million mansion, while Jon, a retired physics teacher, secured the Cornwall property.

As for me, I continue to hope for my first stroke of luck. The thrill of participating in these raffles has left me looking forward to what the future may hold.
