Europe’s quirkiest museum, known for its unique collection of penises and penile parts, has been named the top museum by Brits in an easyJet survey. The Phallological Museum in Reykjavik, Iceland, secured the first position with 25% of the public vote, surpassing other unusual museums like the Sewer Museum in Paris and the Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb.

The interest in offbeat travel experiences is on the rise, with 88% of respondents expressing a desire for unconventional cultural city breaks. This growing trend has led to 79% of Brits planning trips specifically to explore quirky attractions such as unusual museums and art galleries.

Moreover, the survey revealed that a significant number of travelers are willing to pay more for unique cultural experiences, with 84% showing a preference for novelty and rarity in their travel pursuits. Additionally, 81% of respondents indicated that visiting one of the museums listed by easyJet is on their travel bucket list.

Interestingly, a substantial portion of Gen Z Brits (80%) mentioned that they would be more inclined to visit quirky museums if they had seen them featured on social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok. This highlights the influence of social media in shaping travel decisions, especially among younger audiences seeking unconventional and visually appealing destinations.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, emphasized the appeal of autumn for cultural city breaks and encouraged travelers to explore the airline’s extensive network of routes across Europe. With over 550 routes spanning more than 30 countries, including new winter routes like Vienna from London Gatwick and Grenoble from Birmingham, easyJet aims to provide customers with enhanced connectivity and value for their travel adventures.

For those interested in visiting the unique museums highlighted in the survey, easyJet offers affordable flights starting from £17.99, making it convenient for travelers to embark on cultural escapades across Europe. As the largest UK airline with a wide-reaching network, easyJet continues to facilitate diverse cultural experiences for customers seeking intriguing and offbeat attractions both in Europe and beyond.
