British darts player Dom Taylor has publicly apologized for dishonesty regarding his drug use and reflected on the tragic loss of his daughter. The 27-year-old issued a detailed statement on Facebook following his removal from the PDC World Championship.

The Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) revealed that Taylor had tested positive for drugs on December 14 and was subsequently suspended from the tournament. Despite winning his first-round match, his prize money was withheld due to the suspension, and his second-round opponent received a bye.

In his social media post, Taylor expressed regret for his behavior, mentioning a previous failed drug test before the recent incident. He admitted to deceiving not only others but also himself.

Taylor disclosed that he had completed the required rehabilitation after his previous suspension, which had been reduced from a potential two-year ban to three months. He attributed his struggles to past traumas during his teenage years, including the loss of family members and close friends.

Acknowledging the disappointment he has caused to his loved ones, Taylor vowed to seek help after the holiday season. He recognized the need for support and regretted not reaching out earlier.

The darts player also mentioned missing his uncle’s funeral to participate in a championship event, reflecting on the pressures he faced in balancing personal and professional responsibilities. Taylor expressed his sincere apologies to everyone affected and emphasized his commitment to seeking assistance and eventually returning to the sport.
