Conor Benn has accused his rival Chris Eubank Jr of adopting a ‘victim mentality’ following the release of a video showing Eubank Jr being treated in a hospital setting. The footage depicted Eubank Jr, aged 36, laying still on a bed surrounded by medical personnel and connected to various machines.

This video elicited widespread sympathy from fans, with some suggesting that Eubank Jr should consider retiring, especially after his recent loss to Benn in their rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Benn, however, urged fans to question the motives behind Eubank Jr’s video, hinting that it might be a ploy to garner sympathy.

In an interview with the Mail, Benn disclosed that he had heard about Eubank Jr’s health issues during his training camp and post-fight. Despite this, Benn expressed little concern, emphasizing that such health conditions were not severe and insinuating that Eubank Jr might be seeking empathy from the public.

Benn highlighted his own undisclosed challenges, mentioning a time when he struggled to make weight for a fight in Vegas but chose not to publicize his difficulties. He stressed the tough nature of their sport, likening fighters to modern-day gladiators who endure various hardships without seeking pity from others.

Eubank Jr, in response to the video, stated that he had no intentions of retiring, despite facing health issues over the past year. He assured his supporters that he would return to boxing only when fully recovered, promising a comeback to his former self.
