Paul Lim humorously responded to Luke Littler’s comment about avoiding him at the darts world championships, calling it a joke. Lim, at 71 years old, secured a historic win at Alexandra Palace, becoming the oldest player to achieve this feat. He defeated Jeffrey de Graaf to set the new record, surpassing the previous holder, John MaGowan.

Before the championships began, Littler mentioned Lim as one of the players he wished to steer clear of, along with Beau Greaves. Lim, surprised by Littler’s statement, viewed it as a flattering gesture, suggesting that Littler may have thought the crowd would support Lim, which was evident during the matches.

In addition to addressing Littler’s remarks, Lim praised Luke Humphries, his upcoming opponent in the second round, acknowledging Humphries’ talent and unique qualities. Lim likened Littler to Tiger Woods, emphasizing the young player’s exceptional abilities.

Littler successfully advanced to the second round of the championships by defeating Darius Labanauskas. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, highlighting the challenges of the first round and the importance of settling nerves early in the game.

The World Darts Championship preview features insights from both players, including interviews and analyses of the tournament’s leading contenders. Fans can anticipate an exciting competition with defending champion Luke Littler facing stiff competition from Luke Humphries and other skilled players.
