WhatsApp users can now enjoy a major upgrade as the Meta-owned chat platform has officially launched a dedicated app for the Apple Watch. This new app will allow users to easily send messages and respond to friends without the need to reach for their smartphones.

While the Apple Watch has supported WhatsApp notifications for years, the functionality has been limited, showing only message snippets instead of the full content. With the new software update, users can now access full messages, reply with emojis, and send voice memos directly from their Apple Watch.

The update brings a “new experience” according to WhatsApp, enabling users to manage chats seamlessly without having to use their iPhones. Some of the new features include call notifications, the ability to read full messages, send voice messages, react with emojis, enjoy clear images and stickers, view chat history, and more.

WhatsApp emphasized that all messages and calls remain private with end-to-end encryption. The new WhatsApp Apple Watch app is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 10 or later.

Although the app has not yet been released at the time of writing, it is expected to be available in the coming days, as confirmed by Mirror Online.
