Two individuals were shot by ICE officers in the United States following the recent death of a woman in Minneapolis. The shooting incident occurred in Portland near East Burnside and 141st Avenue on a Thursday afternoon, as confirmed by Portland City councillors.

Portland City Council President Elana Pirtle-Guiney stated that the two victims are believed to be alive, but there has been no further update on their conditions. The FBI is leading an investigation into the incident, as reported by ABC.

The shooting took place amidst anti-ICE protests that have erupted nationwide, including in Portland, following the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old woman named Renee Good. Protestors swiftly gathered after the incident, holding a vigil for Good and advocating for public resistance against immigration enforcement.

Good lost her life during an altercation with an ICE officer while attempting to drive away on a snowy residential street during an immigration-related operation. Vice President JD Vance described her death as a “tragedy of her own making,” asserting that she accelerated her car into the officer.

Despite conflicting accounts, videos of the incident do not definitively show whether the vehicle made contact with the officer. Vance criticized Good as being “brainwashed” by left-wing ideology, attributing her actions to a broader movement against law enforcement.

Amidst differing opinions on the incident, Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey rejected claims of self-defense by the officer, while President Trump characterized the event as Good “viciously” running over the ICE officer.

In response to the incident, Trump deployed federal law enforcement officials and National Guard troops to Democratic cities as part of his efforts to combat crime and immigration. The administration defended its actions, rejecting criticism from Democrats and officials in Minnesota.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt labeled Good’s killing as a consequence of a “sinister left-wing movement,” reaffirming the administration’s commitment to removing criminal illegal aliens from American streets.
