Sky TV users are in for some disappointing news as a recent product launch will be discontinued next month. Sky Live, introduced in 2023 as an innovative entertainment device for television interaction, will cease operation on December 4. This accessory, designed to work with Sky’s Glass TV, provided various interactive features through motion sensors and a built-in camera. Subscribers paying £6 per month enjoyed interactive games like Fruit Ninja, Stingray Karaoke, and Peppa Pig: Jump and Giggle, along with fitness monitoring capabilities during home workout sessions.

The device also facilitated Zoom calls and group viewing of content such as Sky Sports through the camera. Despite its promising features, Sky Live did not meet the expected popularity, leading to its discontinuation. However, Sky assures users that games like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will still be available without an additional subscription.

A Sky spokesperson emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, highlighting recent advancements in the Sky Glass product line and broadband services. The spokesperson mentioned that valuable insights from Sky Live’s experience are shaping future product development, particularly focusing on enhancing gaming options for Sky Glass and Sky Stream users, including the addition of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Customers impacted by the discontinuation will receive detailed email notifications this week, offering refunds and a convenient return process with free postage for the device. The company aims to prioritize investments in delivering faster, user-friendly products, exceptional content, and top-notch service to its customers.
