Dramatic new images from Venezuela depict the moment US forces arrived in the country to carry out a swift and explosive operation aimed at extracting Nicolas Maduro, causing panic among some locals. The authoritarian Venezuelan President, a target of the Trump administration, was reportedly apprehended during a large-scale strike that triggered explosions in parts of Caracas. Trump is expected to speak about the operation later today, following statements and visuals from other top officials in the country.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump announced the successful mission to capture Maduro and his wife, who were flown out of the country. The operation, conducted in collaboration with US Law Enforcement, led to Maduro’s indictment in New York on drug trafficking and firearms charges. Venezuela’s attorney general denounced the US strikes as a terrorist attack, mentioning casualties without presenting evidence.

Witnesses captured orange flashes and destruction at a military base, including a damaged civilian bus and burning containers. Helicopters were observed over Caracas during the raid, which caused fires at military complexes and civilian infrastructure. The night sky over the city was illuminated by massive flames, with images revealing the extent of the damage caused by the US intervention.

Furthermore, photos showed destroyed containers at La Guaira port and US military planes departing from Puerto Rico before the raid. Maduro and Cilia Flores are now facing charges in New York, as confirmed by Donald Trump following the US military action in Venezuela.
