Three teenagers have been sentenced to prison for the vicious murder of a homeless man who was assaulted with a gin bottle after being struck by a car. Eymaiyah Lee Bradshaw-McKoy, 18, Mia Campos-Jorge, 19, and Jaidee Bingham, 18, were responsible for the fatal injuries inflicted on Anthony Marks, 51, resulting in brain hemorrhage that led to his death five weeks later. After 47 hours and 47 minutes of deliberation, Bingham was convicted of murder at the Old Bailey on October 30.

Bradshaw-McKoy and Campos-Jorge were acquitted of murder but found guilty of manslaughter. Despite missed opportunities to save Marks, all three teenagers were held accountable for his death. Sentencing took place today, with Bingham receiving a life term of 16 years, Bradshaw-McKoy sentenced to three years and 11 months, and Campos-Jorge receiving three years and six months.

Detective Inspector Jim Barry, from the Met’s Specialist Crime North, who spearheaded the investigation, described the murder as a heartless act that sheds light on the merciless nature of county lines gangs. He emphasized that the young ages of the perpetrators do not excuse their violent behavior, which has instilled fear and intimidation in London’s streets.

The Metropolitan Police revealed that Marks was struck with a car bonnet, chased down, stomped on, and beaten with a gin bottle in a brutal county lines retaliatory attack. Staff at King’s Cross station alerted authorities after discovering Marks with severe injuries. He was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital where a CT scan revealed the brain bleeding caused by the violent assault.

Marks, who was on parole, recounted being attacked outside a pub by the individuals involved in drug-related disputes. Despite being discharged from the hospital and transferred to prison, his health deteriorated, leading to his demise on September 14 due to the brain injury sustained during the attack.

The tragic incident underscores the dangers associated with criminal activities and serves as a reminder of the importance of justice for victims of such ruthless acts.
