People have marched in the streets to express their discontent over federal agents’ involvement in two separate incidents that resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to two others.

Protests have erupted in various cities and towns across the United States following the killing of 37-year-old Renee Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. Additionally, in Portland, Oregon, another immigration enforcement officer shot and wounded two individuals.

These demonstrations coincide with the US Department of Homeland Security’s enforcement efforts in Minneapolis and St. Paul, which they describe as their largest immigration operation to date.

Despite widespread criticism, President Donald Trump’s administration has stood by the shootings, asserting that they were acts of self-defense against individuals who were using their vehicles as weapons.

Many of the protests were organized under the banner “ICE Out for Good,” a clever twist on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement acronym. This group and its local chapters claimed to have orchestrated nationwide protests last year, with events taking place in all states.

The Trump administration has deployed a significant number of federal officers to Minnesota as part of an intensified enforcement campaign, with over 2,000 personnel engaged. Some of these officers were temporarily relocated after being suddenly withdrawn from Louisiana, where they had been involved in a separate operation that was initially scheduled to continue until February.
