Being a beauty editor, the beginning of each year always sparks my interest as I discover numerous innovative products, treatments, and trends vying to make a mark in the beauty industry. One recent standout that caught my attention is hair cryotherapy.
With cryotherapy already well-received in the realm of health and wellness, Brazilian brand Hair.TOXX has now harnessed this technology for hair care. They utilize intensely nourishing products and sub-zero temperatures to rejuvenate, hydrate, and boost shine in hair – boasting up to a 264% increase in shine, as claimed by Hair.TOXX.
Blonde hair, known for its challenge in light reflection, led me to visit Haug London Haus salon in London’s Fitzrovia, which pioneered this groundbreaking treatment in the UK, to witness its impact on my lackluster, heavily bleached hair…
Hair.TOXX entails a personalized repair regimen featuring natural active ingredients sourced from the Amazon. These potent components are sealed in using an ingenious cryotherapy device reaching temperatures as low as -16℃.
The treatment begins with a double wash using a suitable Hair.TOXX shampoo for your hair type (omitting conditioner). A custom blend of serum and mask, tailored to your hair’s needs, is then applied; in my case, a revitalizing serum and protective mask combo from Hair.TOXX was utilized. This blend is evenly distributed across sections of your hair during the treatment.
Subsequently, the hair segment is subjected to a unique process where it is passed twice with a device resembling traditional straighteners but with a twist – instead of heat, the plates emit extreme cold at -16℃. This action effectively seals the cuticles, locking in the intensive treatment deep within each hair strand without altering its natural texture (unlike procedures like Brazilian blowouts that straighten curly hair).
For those averse to cold, rest assured there is minimal discomfort; although your hair may feel cold to the touch, the scalp and shoulders remain unaffected unlike the sensation experienced in cold plunges or icy showers.
To conclude, the treatment is rinsed off, and your hair is styled with a blow dryer to your preference. Additionally, Hair.TOXX offers a lightweight oil for application pre or post blow-drying if needed.
The Hair.TOXX procedure typically lasts around 10-15 minutes, in addition to the usual blow-drying duration. Upon completion, I was amazed by the remarkable smoothness and softness of my hair – a feat quite
