The prevalence of obesity and overweight in the UK has reached concerning levels, with 28% of adults classified as obese and an additional 36% being overweight. This surge in weight issues has led to a significant increase in the use of weight-loss injections, with an estimated 1.5 million people relying on them monthly.

Despite the potential for substantial weight loss from these injections, experts are warning about associated risks and the failure to address the root causes of weight gain. Mike Wakeman, a researcher and pharmacist from Evera Nutrition, highlighted that these injections primarily work by influencing gut hormones to reduce appetite and slow digestion. However, he emphasized that many individuals overlook factors like stress, poor sleep, alcohol misuse, binge eating, and underlying medical conditions contributing to weight problems.

Recent research revealed that individuals often regain lost weight after discontinuing weight-loss injections, with common side effects including nausea, vomiting, and digestive issues. More severe complications such as pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, and depression have also been reported. Rapid weight loss from these injections can lead to muscle loss, hair thinning, and vision problems.

In light of these concerns, experts suggest that certain natural ingredients, when combined with dietary and lifestyle changes, may offer a safer and more sustainable approach to weight management. Mike Wakeman pointed out that natural components like Glucomannan, Resveratrol, Hibiscus, Green Tea, Berberine, Curcumin, Cinnamon, and Mulberry can support appetite control, satiety, and metabolic health without the adverse effects associated with weight-loss injections.

These natural ingredients have been linked to various benefits, such as promoting fullness, reducing obesity and body fat, enhancing metabolism, and improving blood sugar control. By incorporating these components into a comprehensive approach to weight management, individuals may achieve long-term success in maintaining a healthy weight.
