Davina McCall, set to return to the judging panel on the current episode of The Masked Singer, recently sought dietary guidance from renowned food author and entrepreneur, Ella Woodward.

In a candid conversation on her Begin Again podcast, the 58-year-old TV personality opened up about how her battle with cancer prompted a reevaluation of her eating habits. Last October, Davina underwent breast cancer surgery, following the removal of a benign brain tumor the previous year.

Since her health challenges, Davina has been transparent about her recovery journey and the impact cancer has had on her perspective on life.

During their chat about organic food, Davina shared her contemplation of transitioning to an “all-organic” diet post-cancer diagnosis. This discussion arose when Ella expressed hesitance in advocating for exclusively organic eating, leading Davina to question the necessity of her organic food commitment.

In response, Ella highlighted that while organic produce is beneficial if available, it is not imperative due to limited evidence supporting its superiority. She suggested focusing on a varied plant-based diet rather than solely organic options.

The NHS Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has also addressed misconceptions surrounding cancer and nutrition, clarifying that there is no conclusive evidence to suggest organic foods reduce cancer risk more than non-organic alternatives. The emphasis remains on incorporating a diverse range of plant foods into one’s diet.

In a separate revelation, Davina shared how her health scare prompted significant lifestyle adjustments, including reducing her work week to four days. Reflecting on her experience on the Miss Me? podcast, she acknowledged the transformative power of change and how her cancer diagnosis compelled her to prioritize balance and well-being.

Davina’s journey underscores the importance of adapting to life’s challenges and embracing change for personal growth. The Masked Singer can be watched tonight at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
