Homes seeking TV access without monthly fees now have expanded choices. Freely, introduced in 2024, offers live channel access via broadband. Initially limited to select new TVs, Freely has expanded to TVs from manufacturers like Hisense, Toshiba, and Sharp. Previously, viewers needed a new TV to access live and on-demand content through Freely.

Recently, Manhattan’s tech team unveiled the Aero 4K set-top box powered by Freely, extending this service to existing TVs. The Aero 4K provides 60+ live channels and on-demand content for free, without costly subscriptions. Features include voice search, viewing recommendations, a TV guide, and live content pause capabilities. Subscribers to services like Disney+ and Netflix can also access these apps.

Priced at £69.99, the Manhattan Aero 4K is gaining popularity. Currys is the first UK store to offer the device, currently sold out but expected to restock soon. Interested buyers can sign up on Currys’ website for alerts. Other retailers, including Amazon and John Lewis, are anticipated to sell the device shortly.

Once available, the Aero 4K will compete with devices like Virgin’s Stream box and Sky Stream, eliminating the need for aerials or dishes by streaming content online. Switching to streaming offers benefits like simplified installation and frequent over-the-air updates.

With over a million users, Freely continues to grow as more viewers transition to streaming from traditional TV watching methods.
