Two teenagers who were reportedly forced at gunpoint to dig their own graves during a terrifying kidnapping incident have been discharged from the hospital, it has been revealed.

The two youths, aged 14 and 16, were allegedly abducted and held captive for several hours in a secluded area near Nantes, France, in a case believed to be connected to conflicts between rival drug factions, according to authorities.

Reportedly taken in a vehicle to a forest, the victims were stripped, physically assaulted, menaced, and coerced to dig their own graves under threat of a firearm. Fortunately, they managed to escape and seek assistance at a nearby residence.

An investigation for “violence and kidnapping with a weapon” was initiated by authorities following the events that unfolded on January 2.

The ordeal began around 1 a.m. when the teenagers were kidnapped and transported to the location, lasting approximately two hours until they sought aid from a resident in La Chapelle-sur-Erdre.

Upon observing the teenagers’ injuries, including cuts on their fingers and faces, the homeowner promptly notified the police. One of the teenagers had sustained a stab wound to the thigh, as confirmed by Antoine Leroy from the Nantes prosecutor’s office, who stated that the victims are now out of the hospital. He remarked that these incidents are connected to drug-related crimes and territorial disputes, as reported to the French press agency.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. This occurrence is just the latest in a series of distressing incidents involving young individuals amidst ongoing drug-related conflicts in France. Experts have warned that criminal organizations are targeting children as young as 12 for drug trafficking.

In a separate incident, eight individuals were apprehended on suspicion of murder after a teenager’s death was broadcast live on social media, and his body was discovered partially burned in a remote village near Nîmes, France.

The deceased individual, a 19-year-old male, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including a fatal shot to the head, and evidence indicated a deliberate act of setting his body on fire.

The investigation revealed that the victim’s demise was streamed live on social media as part of an escalating gang dispute in Nîmes.

A surge in violent crimes in the area has been associated with gang activities migrating from Marseille, prompting the implementation of a city-wide curfew for individuals under the age of 16 last summer.
