A tragic incident unfolded as a four-year-old boy passed away following a distressing situation where he was discovered unconscious in a swimming pool and efforts were made to revive him through CPR performed by family members.
The devastating event took place in Bobs Farm, located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia, on the evening of Friday, January 9. Emergency services were urgently summoned after the child was retrieved from the pool unresponsive, in a desperate attempt to save his life.
Despite the prompt response of police and ambulance teams who worked tirelessly to resuscitate him, the unidentified boy, tragically, succumbed to the incident just days after the Christmas holiday. He was swiftly transported to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition, where all medical efforts proved futile in saving his life.
According to a statement from a New South Wales Police spokesperson, the boy was found unconscious in the pool on the state’s mid north coast, prompting an immediate emergency response at around 7:30 pm on the mentioned date. Family members initiated CPR until paramedics from NSW Ambulance intervened at the scene. The child was then attended to on-site before being rushed to John Hunter Hospital, where he eventually passed away.
Authorities from the Port Stephens/Hunter Police District were on-site to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, and a detailed report will be submitted for further legal review.
This heartbreaking occurrence follows another tragic incident where an eight-year-old boy lost his life after being discovered unresponsive in a separate swimming pool incident near Shepparton, Australia, on Sunday, November 9. Despite receiving medical assistance at the scene, the child, who remains unnamed, could not survive the injuries sustained during the pool mishap.
