Sky Sports host Jo Wilson has shared her cancer journey, expressing her initial fear of death and emotional preparation for the worst upon learning of her cervical cancer diagnosis in June 2022 during a routine check-up. Despite undergoing intense treatment for six weeks to combat the cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes, Wilson received a clean bill of health in June 2023.

Having been with Sky Sports since 2011, Wilson underwent radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and brachytherapy to fight the disease. While the treatment saved her life, it led to early menopause, impacting her career as a presenter.

Wilson’s cancer battle occurred shortly after giving birth to her daughter Mabel in 2020. In a documentary titled “Football, Cancer, and Me” on Sky Sports News, she revealed her reluctance to burden others with her condition, emphasizing the importance of seeking medical help if something feels amiss.

The documentary also features conversations with colleagues Emma Saunders and former manager Tony Mowbray, who shared their own experiences with cancer. Mowbray disclosed his battle with bowel cancer, while Saunders underwent surgery for a brain infection following a thyroid cancer diagnosis, leaving her partner shocked by the visible aftermath.

The challenging aspects of managing work and health were highlighted, with Mowbray expressing the difficulties of being away in another country while dealing with the aftermath of surgery. The documentary aims to raise awareness and encourage others to prioritize their health.

Furthermore, Sky Sports has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to include popular streaming platforms like HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, and Hayu, along with comprehensive coverage of 135 channels, Premier League matches, and EFL games.
