Luke Littler and his fellow competitors are gearing up for a shot at a lucrative $200,000 (£149,000) prize in Riyadh next week if they can achieve a nine-dart finish followed by hitting the ‘golden bull.’

Making its debut in Saudi Arabia, the World Series of Darts will feature eight PDC Tour representatives facing off against eight Asian Tour representatives in a high-stakes two-day tournament commencing on Monday.

Should a player successfully complete a nine-darter, they will secure a $100,000 (£74,700) reward, with the added opportunity to double it by aiming for the bullseye with a ‘golden’ dart. This represents the largest prize ever offered in darts for a nine-dart finish, and Littler, having recently claimed a record £1 million prize for winning the World Championship, is eager to take on the challenge.

The incentive structure mirrors that of the Riyadh Season Snooker Championship, which includes the “Riyadh Season golden ball” offering a $1 million (£760,000) bonus for achieving a first-ever 167 break with the 20-point golden cue ball.

Former World Championship semi-finalist Mark Webster highlighted the prize structure on ITV 4, emphasizing the potential $200,000 reward for a flawless ten-dart performance. Littler, alongside top players like Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, and others, is set to compete in Riyadh following their participation in the Bahrain Masters.

As the competition heats up, Littler showcased his prowess with a 170 ‘Big Fish’ checkout to advance to the quarter-finals, with Humphries, Van Gerwen, and others also progressing in the tournament.
