Carlos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero have ended their coaching relationship after collaborating for seven years. Ferrero began coaching Alcaraz when the young Spanish player was just 15 years old, guiding him to numerous achievements.
During their partnership, Alcaraz secured six Grand Slam titles, attained the top ranking in the world, and clinched an Olympic silver medal. Ferrero, a former world No. 1 and Grand Slam champion himself, was recognized alongside Samuel Lopez with the 2025 ATP Coach of the Year Award for their coaching efforts with Alcaraz.
Alcaraz announced the split on social media, expressing gratitude for their time together and the growth he experienced under Ferrero’s mentorship. He highlighted the shared journey that led them to the pinnacle of success in the sports world, emphasizing the importance of their bond both on and off the court.
In response, Ferrero shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, reminiscing about the shared experiences, challenges, and growth they encountered together. He thanked Alcaraz for the trust and effort put into their collaboration, expressing pride in their collective achievements.
Alcaraz continues to be coached by Samuel Lopez, who is based at Ferrero’s academy in Alicante. The specific reasons behind Ferrero’s departure from the coaching setup remain undisclosed by both parties.
