Bradley Walsh has acknowledged the increasing difficulty of achieving a personal goal he had set for himself by 2026 as he gets older. The host of The Chase shared his personal reflections during a joint interview with his son, Barney Walsh, both of whom are hosting the BBC’s Gladiators reboot premiering tonight.

As 2026 progresses, the father-son duo discussed their resolutions. Bradley, visibly enthusiastic, affirmed having set goals, supported by Barney’s encouragement.

In 2022, reports surfaced about the 65-year-old shedding a significant amount of weight and modifying his diet following a doctor’s warning about potential heart issues.

Concerned about his health, Bradley expressed his desire to become slimmer and fitter, acknowledging the challenges that come with age but emphasizing his determination to improve his fitness levels.

Seeking advice from the Gladiators, Bradley mentioned receiving helpful tips on nutrition and exercise, emphasizing his commitment to a healthier lifestyle by cutting back on certain foods.

Despite his health-conscious efforts, Bradley humorously admitted to having indulgent snacks like cakes, chocolate, and fizzy drinks in his dressing room during Gladiators recordings, highlighting the importance of balance in his dietary choices.

Bradley’s motivation to prioritize his health stems from his family history, with his father’s premature death from heart disease at 59 shaping his perspective on aging milestones. Turning 60 was a significant moment for Bradley, prompting him to focus on improving his health by avoiding fatty foods and alcohol.

Acknowledging his health risks, Bradley disclosed his battle with high cholesterol levels, describing it as a silent threat that prompted him to prioritize fitness under medical advice.

Don’t miss Bradley on Gladiators tonight on BBC One from 5.45pm to 6.45pm.
