Four years ago, Sokvin Vann found herself stuck in a routine. Encouraged by her brother, she channeled her love for K-pop and BTS into creating BTS Army Toronto. Despite her brother’s passing, Vann continued to expand the fan club, hosting events, organizing fundraisers, and supporting local Korean businesses.
Now, as BTS prepares to return to Toronto after more than a decade, BTS Army Toronto, co-led by Vann and her son Jordan, is eagerly anticipating the upcoming concerts. The fan club has grown into a tight-knit community, fostering friendships and connections through a shared passion for the South Korean band.
BTS is set to perform sold-out shows at Rogers Stadium as part of their Arirang World Tour, delighting fans with hits like “Swim,” “Permission to Dance,” and “Butter.” The City of Toronto has renamed a section of Yonge Street to BTS Boulevard in honor of the concerts, featuring a design inspired by the tour’s branding.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the group’s performance, resonating with BTS’s music that touches on themes of mental health, self-love, and personal growth. Vann, also a real estate agent, has expanded her involvement with BTS through Idol Konnect, offering services to K-pop artists.
BTS’s visit to Toronto marks their only Canadian stop on the world tour, showcasing their journey from underdogs to global icons. The group’s impact on the music industry, including their chart-topping album “ARIRANG,” has solidified their position as international superstars.
As excitement builds for the concerts, fans like Aira Uy are eagerly anticipating the long-awaited show. The City of Toronto and local businesses are embracing BTS’s visit, with fans flocking to the official merchandise store and engaging in various activities around the city.
With preparations underway for the concerts, BTS Army Toronto is gearing up to provide a memorable experience for fans, including special events and guides to navigate the city. Vann and the fan club members are eagerly anticipating the connection and excitement that the concerts will bring to the BTS community.
