A father revealed that his daughter was fatally strangled by her violent husband after she expressed her intention to end their relationship. Paul Knight, aged 36, admitted to killing Isobella Knight, a 32-year-old talented artist, while their two children were asleep at their home in Burton Latimer, Northants, on June 13 of the previous year.
The victim’s father, Tim Davies, aged 58, disclosed that his daughter suffered from the abusive behavior of her husband, leading to her decision to separate from him. Isobella, also known as Izzy, had kept the extent of her suffering a secret from her family. Her family only learned about the domestic abuse she endured after her tragic death.
Knight confessed to the crime in court and is awaiting sentencing scheduled for January 29. Following the murder, he made failed suicide attempts before being apprehended by the police. Post-mortem results revealed that Isobella died due to strangulation, and it was disclosed in court that Knight had violently attacked his wife. Their two young children are now under the care of Isobella’s mother and her partner, who are concerned about Knight’s potential influence over the children.
Legislation known as Jade’s Law, designed to strip parental responsibility from individuals convicted of killing their partners, has yet to be implemented due to legal complications. Isobella’s family expressed their grief and memories of her as a loving and dedicated mother. Detectives involved in the case highlighted the tragedy of the situation and commended Isobella’s positive attributes and potential.
