Black smoke was seen billowing from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York following a fire incident in the airside area of the facility. Images on social media depicted a plume of black smoke rising near Terminal 8, with emergency crews responding to the scene.
A video captured the thick black smoke emanating from behind a security fence at the airport, resulting from a vehicle fire confirmed to have occurred around 7:25 am local time. The fire involved an American Airlines tow truck, which was promptly extinguished by the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting team.
