If you own a Freeview television, it’s a great opportunity to ensure it is updated and retuned for the latest features. Recently, two new channels have been introduced to the free-to-view platform, offering movies and children’s programming.

One of the new channels is wedotv Movies UK, which has transitioned from an online-only service to a full over-the-air channel. This allows all households to access the channel, even without an internet-connected TV. The channel airs a lineup of popular films, including One-Eyed Jacks, Willow Creek, and The Way.

Additionally, there is a new channel called Cartoon Classics catering to younger viewers, located on channel 214. This channel features beloved animated shows like The Smurfs, Count Duckula, Sonic X, and Leo & Tig.

To enjoy these new channels on your TV, it is advisable to ensure your device is fully updated. Freeview has announced upcoming changes to channels on October 22, 2025, prompting users to retune their TVs for the latest updates.

In addition to the new channels, one service, Gems TV on channel 45, is rebranding as Gemporia. Freeview has provided guidance on how to retune devices, outlining the necessary steps for users to follow, such as accessing the menu and selecting the ‘first-time installation’ option.

The evolving nature of channels on Freeview means that changes like channel additions, removals, and relocations are common. Freeview remains committed to offering audiences a diverse range of content for an enjoyable viewing experience.
