Police officers, paramedics, and an air ambulance swiftly responded to an incident involving schoolchildren who fell from the top window of a double-decker bus. Emergency crews rushed to the scene on Bolton Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield on Wednesday, January 7, following the occurrence that resulted in “some with potentially life-changing injuries.”

According to a statement from Greater Manchester Police, three high school students are reported to have fallen through a window on the upper deck of a bus, leading to potentially serious injuries for all of them. The authorities confirmed that all three individuals have been transported to the hospital for treatment.

Inspector Simon Barrie of the Wigan District emphasized the seriousness of the incident, focusing on ensuring the children receive necessary medical care. Despite the disruption caused, authorities believe the injuries are not life-threatening. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full details surrounding the incident.

A local councilor from Ashton-in-Makerfield South Ward expressed concern for the affected individuals, mentioning that the road has been reopened after investigative procedures. Support is being extended to the schools involved, with thoughts and well wishes sent to the children and their families impacted by the event.
