The individual facing charges in connection with the tragic car accident involving Anthony Joshua, where his personal trainer and strength coach lost their lives, has made a court appearance in Nigeria. The incident occurred near Lagos on December 29, resulting in the deaths of Joshua’s associates. The accused, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, attended Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state, with a subsequent adjournment of his case to March 13. On January 20, he was initially brought to court on charges of causing death by dangerous driving and reckless behavior.
Kayode, who has not yet entered a plea, was granted bail amounting to around £2,600 and released from custody. Additionally, he faces allegations of careless driving and operating a vehicle without a valid license, potentially leading to a life imprisonment sentence. Prosecutors have requested more time to gather evidence for the case.
Anthony Joshua narrowly escaped death in the accident and was discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve after sustaining injuries. He has since returned to the UK and is undergoing rehabilitation.
