Luke Littler has announced that he will not be attending the upcoming BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards, despite being nominated for the prestigious accolade. Littler, also known as ‘The Nuke’ and aged 18, has endorsed Lando Norris as the likely winner among the six contenders, which include Rory McIlroy, Chloe Kelly, Hannah Hampton, and Ellie Kildunne.

While Littler is once again a nominee after an outstanding year, he has emphasized that his main focus will be on his upcoming match with either Mario Vandenbogaerde or David Davies, scheduled just two days after the awards ceremony on December 18.

Regarding the awards ceremony, Littler stated, “No. I’m not going. I’m not going to it. I think they know. I think obviously the people in the top three on the betting odds will obviously go there and I think Lando will win.” Reflecting on his chances, he added, “I think I’ve only missed out on four majors this year. So if I’d won them, do I win it? Who knows – but good luck to whoever’s going to win it.”

In the coming days, Littler plans to relax at home but will make time to watch Manchester United’s match against Bournemouth. As a dedicated fan of the Red Devils, he recently attended their game against Wolves, addressing queries about his ticket acquisition and clarifying that he received tickets from Adidas.

After securing a 3-0 victory over Darius Labanauskas at Ally Pally, Littler shared his satisfaction with the win amidst some nerves during the match. Looking ahead to the World Darts Championship, where he aims to defend his title, Littler anticipates a competitive challenge from rival Luke Humphries.

The championship preview features insights from both players, along with interviews and analyses of the tournament’s top contenders. Readers can access the full coverage of the event through the provided link.
