Marks and Spencer has emerged as the leading brand in the UK, according to the latest rankings. The YouGov BrandIndex tool has named M&S as the strongest brand in the UK, considering factors such as impression, quality, value, satisfaction, recommendation, and reputation over the past year.

Despite facing a cyber attack in 2025 that impacted online shopping capabilities for months, Marks and Spencer secured the top position. Following M&S in the top five are IKEA, Samsung, John Lewis, and Netflix.

Post Office has been recognized as the most improved brand, driven by increased satisfaction and improved public perception following the Horizon IT scandal. Royal Mail and Fujitsu claimed the second and third spots for most improved brands.

WhatsApp has topped the global best brand rankings, with notable success in India and Indonesia. The messaging app is followed by Samsung, YouTube, and Google in the global rankings.

YouGov’s CEO and Co-founder, Stephan Shakespeare, emphasized the importance of strong brands that connect with consumers. The Best Brand Rankings, based on extensive interviews across multiple markets, showcase companies with enduring consumer appeal.

Stuart Machin, the CEO of Marks and Spencer, expressed gratitude for being named the UK’s Best Brand for the fourth consecutive year. He acknowledged the significance of customer feedback and attributed the success to the dedicated efforts of the company’s team. Looking ahead, Machin emphasized the commitment to continuous improvement and seizing future opportunities.
