A tragic incident unfolded as a married couple was discovered deceased in a camper van at New Forest, with authorities confirming that they succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning. The couple, Christopher and Kayleigh Coll from Blandford Forum, Dorset, were found lifeless in their vehicle on October 12 during the New Forest Cider Festival in Burley. The pair, known for their strong bond, left behind their four children who are now under the care of relatives.

During the inquest at Winchester Coroners Court, it was revealed that the camper van was using gas heating, and despite efforts by paramedics, both Christopher, 48, and Kayleigh, 38, could not be revived. The preliminary cause of death was attributed to carbon monoxide toxicity, and the proceedings were adjourned until July 22, 2026. Following the tragic event, a tribute was released by the family, highlighting the couple’s vibrant and caring personalities devoted to their children.

In response to the family’s needs, a GoFundMe campaign has raised over £30,000 out of a £37,000 target. Mr. Coll, who operated Mystacoll’s Spirit specializing in handcrafted items, had expressed excitement on Facebook before the cider festival. The couple’s relatives, in a statement conveyed through the police, emphasized the significant loss and the importance of safeguarding and supporting their children.

Friends and acquaintances expressed their grief and shared heartfelt messages online, remembering Kayleigh and Christopher for their kindness and love. The festival organizers also extended their condolences and clarified that the tragic incident in the private vehicle was unrelated to the event, with authorities ruling out any suspicious circumstances and confirming full cooperation in the investigation.
