Thousands of individuals were evacuated from Miami Airport following reports of a security concern. The airport, situated at 2100 NW 42nd Ave, Miami, Florida, saw the evacuation take place at approximately 6 pm local time on Sunday, January 25.

According to accounts on social media, confused passengers mentioned that thousands were instructed to exit the airport premises due to a security threat, causing them to wait outside. An eyewitness described the situation as chaotic, with a sudden noise leading to panic and a rush towards the exits.

Airport officials have given the all-clear signal, and all sections are now accessible after the earlier disruption. A spokesperson for the airport stated that the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s office is looking into a suspicious item in the South Terminal area of MIA. Consequently, TSA checkpoints for concourses G, H, and J, along with the surrounding zones, were evacuated and remain closed. Travelers heading to MIA are advised to allocate extra time due to the situation.

Efforts to gather more details from Miami International Airport are underway, and updates will be shared once available. Information on the incident is mainly from eyewitnesses and individuals outside the airport following the event. While some claim that all flights have been grounded, this remains unconfirmed. However, flight operations are expected to be disrupted, leading to delays and cancellations affecting passengers.
