“Obsession” has captivated audiences globally, hitting a significant milestone by crossing the $500-million mark at the global box office. The horror film, released in the 2020s, has become the highest-grossing original movie post-pandemic, surpassing Pixar’s “Elemental.” Made on a micro-budget of $750,000, it now holds the title of the highest-grossing film produced for less than $1 million. Written and directed by Curry Barker, the film saw increasing weekly grosses in its first three weeks, a feat not seen since “E.T.” The movie’s success has opened doors for its young cast, with lead actors Inde Navarette and Michael Johnston landing roles in major upcoming films. Barker is already working on his next project, a horror film titled “Anything but Ghosts,” in which he will also star.
