Police intervened on an EasyJet flight heading to Egypt and halted the trip following reports of a group of unruly passengers. The flight, known as EZY3077, scheduled to take off from Belfast International Airport on Saturday, January 3, was postponed until the following morning, January 4, due to the incident. EasyJet emphasized their strict stance against disruptive behavior onboard, stating that such occurrences are taken seriously.

The disruption caused by the unruly passengers led to the crew exceeding their safety-regulated operating hours, ultimately leading to the flight’s cancellation. According to information from Belfast Live, the intervention of law enforcement was necessitated by the behavior of a group of passengers onboard the flight.

An easyJet spokesperson explained, “Prior to the departure of Flight EZY3077 from Belfast to Hurghada on January 3rd, police were called due to disruptive conduct by a group of passengers. Our cabin crew is trained to promptly assess and manage situations to ensure the safety of all passengers and the flight is not compromised at any point. We have zero tolerance for disruptive behavior during flights.”

Regrettably, the resulting delay caused the crew to exceed their legally allowed operating hours, leading to the rescheduling of the flight to the next day. Affected customers were provided with accommodation and meals. The airline emphasized that customer and crew safety is their top priority and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.

A spokesperson for the PSNI confirmed their involvement in assisting the Belfast International Airport Constabulary with the passenger disembarkation process.
