Sky unveils an exciting new subscription plan that combines popular streaming services at a reduced monthly rate. For just £24 a month, customers, both new and existing, will gain access to a bundle including Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app. This offering is deemed a great value as it provides approximately £20 worth of streaming apps for only £9 more than Sky’s basic plan priced at £15 per month.
Moreover, subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will enjoy over 130 channels, such as Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, and Sky History. Additionally, Sky Cinema users will benefit from a dedicated Disney movie channel integrated into their planner, allowing them to watch Disney blockbusters without switching to the Disney+ app.
Existing Disney+ subscribers can seamlessly transfer their current plans to Sky, maintaining their profiles and viewing history. The supported apps will be easily accessible from the homepage, offering integrated content for a convenient viewing experience. Users can utilize voice search to find shows and movies and save them to a Playlist for later watching.
The new Sky Ultimate plan will be available on Sky Glass, Sky Stream, and Sky Q platforms. Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, describes this update as a “new era” for Sky and NOW, uniting Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu under a single subscription. She highlights the integrated viewing experience and exceptional value for customers, with HBO Max included at no additional cost for NOW Entertainment subscribers.
Sky’s emphasis on innovation continues with this move, aiming to simplify the premium entertainment experience for viewers. The update includes Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads (starting in March), HBO Max Basic with Ads (launching on March 26 in the UK & Ireland), and Hayu access from July (with select shows available from March), along with over 130 Sky channels.
In summary, Sky’s latest offering reflects its commitment to enhancing viewers’ access to top-tier entertainment in a user-friendly, consolidated platform.
