Sky subscribers who enjoy movie marathons are in for a change as the television provider announces a significant update to its channel lineup. Sky is set to merge its Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) with Sky Cinema Family starting April 30. The consolidation aims to streamline the service, offering a single hub for family-friendly films on channel 304.

Viewers can anticipate popular titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, How to Train Your Dragon, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Wicked all conveniently located in one place post the transition. Although one channel will be removed, Sky assures that all content previously available on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family.

For enthusiasts of Sky Cinema Animation, there is a silver lining. While the standalone channel will no longer exist, it will make temporary comebacks during school holidays to entertain kids. Sky has confirmed the availability of the channel from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.

In other news, Sky has ventured into the home security arena with the introduction of new smart devices. Customers can opt for a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month along with a £15 upfront fee. This system offers features such as full HD video recording, instant mobile alerts, customizable activity zones, two-way audio, and 30 days of cloud video storage.

For those seeking additional functionalities, Sky presents a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ priced at £8 per month and a £20 upfront cost. This package includes an indoor camera and extra app controls, incorporating scheduled arming and automatic device modes.

Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, emphasized the company’s goal to make premium smart technology more accessible. He highlighted Sky’s focus on delivering features that customers value while ensuring simplicity, ease of management, and affordability.
