Two teenagers were reportedly abducted, stabbed, and coerced into digging their own graves in a forest in a frightening incident that authorities suspect could be related to drug disputes. The victims, aged 14 and 16, were taken on the night of January 2 from a hotel parking lot in Carquefou, a suburb near Nantes, by several masked individuals witnessed forcing them into a car. Despite a swift response from authorities, the teenagers and the vehicle were not found.

Around 3:00 am, a resident of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, located about ten kilometers from Carquefou, discovered the injured boys at his doorstep. Both victims had visible injuries, including bloody faces, cut fingers, and signs of extreme distress. One of the teenagers had a stab wound on the thigh. The resident promptly contacted authorities and administered initial aid before the victims were taken to Nantes University Hospital for further treatment.

As per their accounts to investigators, the teenagers were driven to a nearby forest, confined in a car trunk, and subjected to severe physical abuse. The assailants stripped them, assaulted them, and made death threats. The victims recounted being threatened with a gun and forced to dig a hole with their hands, possibly intended as their graves. Police later located the described site, uncovering the teens’ discarded clothes and the dug-out hole.

Nantes public prosecutor, Antoine Leroy, confirmed the initiation of an investigation into the case for kidnapping, illegal confinement, and violent acts. Local criminal investigation department officials suspect the incident is connected to drug trade disputes, likely stemming from conflicts between traffickers.

The younger teenager, originally from Angers, had reportedly been evading authorities for several months before the abduction. Both victims have provided statements to the authorities, although they have been hesitant to divulge detailed information about the ordeal.

The investigation is currently being conducted by Nantes’ research brigade gendarmes. Prosecutor Leroy mentioned progress in identifying the perpetrators of the harrowing abduction but noted that no arrests have been made at this point.
