Reflecting on the current scenario, Fleetwood, ranked third globally, praised the PGA Tour for its competitive events and substantial prize money, emphasizing his gratitude for being part of such a prestigious circuit.
Fleetwood, who earned $10 million for his victory at the Tour Championships, is now focused on clinching his first Major title. He emphasized the importance of aligning one’s goals and aspirations in choosing where to compete, noting that different players have varying motivations for their decisions.
LIV Golf, funded by Newcastle’s Public Investment Fund, made significant investments in its initial seasons, including lucrative deals with Koepka and Jon Rahm. This year, the signings have been less high-profile, with new additions like Victor Perez, Laurie Canter, and others joining the roster.
While Fleetwood’s value has soared in recent years, LIV Golf has not pursued him in the current recruitment cycle. Fleetwood acknowledged the trend of top golfers switching to LIV but remained uncertain about the strategy and targets of the organization.
