US President Donald Trump has shown confidence in the sustainability of the Gaza ceasefire, despite reports indicating its early breach. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump expressed belief in the ceasefire’s stability, stating that all parties involved are weary of the ongoing conflict.

Following the ceasefire announcement, a significant number of individuals were observed moving towards the north in Gaza. Many of them will confront scenes of devastation resulting from Israel’s extensive bombing campaign in the region over the past two years.

Trump also expressed optimism regarding the reconstruction efforts in Gaza, mentioning the financial capacity of wealthy nations in the area to support the rebuilding process. Meanwhile, displaced civilians returning to areas like Khan Younis encountered a landscape marred by destruction and desolation.

Although Trump remains hopeful for positive changes in Gaza and was acknowledged for his role in brokering the initial peace deal, he missed out on receiving the Nobel Peace Prize recently. Additionally, a firsthand account from the Gaza border highlighted the eerie calm that settled over the region after the ceasefire took effect.

As Palestinians begin the journey back to their homes in northern Gaza, Trump’s peace plan, consisting of 20 points, is expected to diminish Hamas’s influence in the area. The ceasefire has brought a temporary relief from the conflict, allowing Palestinians to breathe easier and potentially assess the state of their homes amidst the calm.
