President Trump criticized anti-ICE demonstrations in Minnesota as “fake riots” during a speech in Detroit, where he also made unsubstantiated claims about the protesters and used a racially charged slogan. Following the tragic shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, Trump suggested that those protesting against his immigration policies were not genuine and labeled them as “practiced” troublemakers. He specifically mentioned a video showing a woman condemning the agent who shot Good, calling her actions “fake” and implying a coordinated effort behind the protests.

Moreover, Trump targeted Representative Ilhan Omar in his speech, insinuating imprisonment for politicians involved in alleged fraudulent activities. He made derogatory remarks about Omar’s background and accused her of being a “scam artist.” Additionally, he threatened to revoke the US citizenship of individuals from Somalia convicted of fraud, despite legal limitations on such actions. Trump also hinted at a crackdown on Sanctuary Cities and reiterated his stance on deporting Somalis, emphasizing a return to America’s “native spirit.”

Throughout his address, Trump emphasized a tough stance on issues related to immigration and fraud, vowing to withhold funding from jurisdictions supporting Sanctuary Cities. He criticized the perceived protection of criminals at the expense of American citizens and pledged to combat what he referred to as “fraud, crime, and other problems” associated with Sanctuary Cities.
