The forceful response from Washington DC follows the tragic death of 23-year-old student Robina Aminian, who was fatally shot while preparing to join a protest amid the ongoing demonstrations in Iran. Human rights organizations have raised alarms over the escalating death toll, with Robina’s family forced to search through numerous bodies in a makeshift morgue in search of her.
Describing Robina as a brave and independent young woman with a thirst for freedom and women’s rights, her uncle Nezar Minouei shared her story with CNN. The protests within Iran, alongside support from the Iranian diaspora, reflect widespread opposition to the regime that took power after the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Trump, who previously authorized strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, is closely monitoring the evolving situation.
International observers are increasingly acknowledging the possibility of Trump ordering further military actions, given his past successes such as capturing Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his persistent efforts to acquire Greenland from Denmark.
