A zookeeper recorded his final moments before being attacked and consumed by lions. The man was attempting to reclaim three escaped animals in a bid to impress his partner, but the lions turned on him unexpectedly. Identified as F. Iriskulov, 44, he was seen on camera unlocking a padlock at the Lion Park private zoo in Parkent, Uzbekistan during the early hours. In the footage from 2024, the lions appeared calm at first but then became agitated as he approached them.
Despite his efforts to calm the lions, one of them suddenly bit his arm, causing him distress. The phone recording captured his screams and the lion’s growls before cutting off abruptly. Hours later, fellow zoo workers found Iriskulov’s remains in the lion cage, while the lions roamed free. Two lions were tranquilized, but the third had to be put down. The zoo confirmed that the lions had killed and partially consumed the zookeeper.
Similarly, another tragic incident occurred when a zookeeper was devoured by lions in front of horrified tourists at Safari World in Bangkok, Thailand. Witnesses described the lions attacking the keeper as he exited his vehicle in an open enclosure. Despite efforts to intervene, the lions killed the keeper before authorities could stop them. This serves as another grim reminder of the dangers faced by zookeepers working closely with wild animals.
