Apple is hosting its annual WWDC Developers Conference at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, unveiling a range of updates for its products, such as the iPhone. The upcoming features set to launch later this year promise enhanced customization, improved parental controls, faster app launches, and a more intuitive Siri assistant. Users with devices compatible with Apple Intelligence are poised to benefit the most from these updates.
Initially introduced in 2024, Apple Intelligence faced challenges with several promised features not coming to fruition. The tech giant has since been dedicated to enhancing this smart service, gearing up to roll out the improvements to the public.
Expected to debut in September, Apple Intelligence aims to simplify life by assisting users in organizing calendars and providing one-tap suggestions based on the context of their conversations in Messages. For example, upon receiving a message requesting “photos of mum,” Apple Intelligence will promptly display relevant images from the user’s photo library.
Notable changes are also coming to Safari browsers, introducing features like Notify Me, allowing users to monitor web pages for changes like product restocks or price drops. Additionally, Safari will now automatically organize tabs by topic for a more streamlined browsing experience.
One of the standout features is the enhanced photo capabilities of Apple Intelligence, offering improved image retouching, object removal, background extension without requiring advanced editing skills, and a feature called Spatial Reframing, enabling post-photo composition adjustments.
Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, emphasized the company’s commitment to integrating advanced technology into user-friendly products. The enhanced Apple Intelligence, with features tailored for web browsing, creative expression, photo editing, and more, represents a significant advancement in incorporating powerful AI into Apple’s platforms.
The updated Apple Intelligence will be available with the release of iOS 27 this fall, accessible on a range of iPhone models including the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 series, iPhone 17 models, and the iPhone Air.
