A couple’s excitement over a bargain deal turned into disappointment when the sofas they ordered from Temu turned out to be much smaller than expected.
Online shoppers are learning the hard way that what seems like a great deal on the budget site Temu can sometimes be too good to be true.
Josue Martinez took to TikTok to share the hilarious moment when he and his wife unpacked their £295 living room set from Temu on January 5th. They failed to check the dimensions beforehand and were shocked to find tiny sofas more suitable for a child or a pet.
The video of their sofa mishap went viral, garnering over 30 million views, with many finding the situation “hilarious.”
TikTok users chimed in with comments like, “The dog must be thrilled with its new couches,” and “Temu fails always bring a smile to my face.” Some viewers admitted to similar shopping blunders, with one sharing a story of receiving a washcloth instead of a blanket.
Other reported Temu mishaps include a dad receiving a “cable knit” cardigan made of plastic and a lamp shaped like a croissant that attracted ants.
Despite the mix-up, viewers found humor in the situation, with one person stating, “Temu adds fun to life,” and another joking that the chairs probably need 48 hours to grow. In a follow-up video, the couple sprayed water on the small sofas, jokingly trying to make them expand.
A silver lining emerged as one viewer pointed out, “At least your dog has a new couch set now.”
